Laura K. Holley, Development Consultant
Laura K. Holley serves as a Development Consultant for Restoration Place Counseling. She is first a lifetime musician, earning a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Peabody Institute of Music – John Hopkins University.
Laura’s journey into the nonprofit world began as a member of the Piano Faculty at the Music Academy of North Carolina (MANC) back in 1993. After Laura approached her Executive Director numerous times with great program ideas, her director told her that if she could figure out a way to fund the programs, she could do them. And that is just what Laura did. She became Director of Program Development in 2001 and remained in Development through 2010. After her Executive Director retired, Laura stepped into the role of ED from 2010 – 2012 and launched several major initiatives. However, her heart for fund development drew her back into the position of Director of Advancement for her remaining time at MANC. In addition to the many years of experience that she has in nonprofit development, Laura has also received cutting-edge training from an evidence-based program: Benevon Sustainable Funding Program. Other training that she has received include the American Express Nonprofit Leadership Academy (New York, NY) and the Guilford Nonprofit Consortium Executive Director Academy (Greensboro, NC).
Personally, Laura is the wife of David Holley, who is the Director of Opera at UNC-Greensboro and Artistic Director of the Greensboro Opera. They have two young adult sons, Jonathan and Joshua. Laura presently serves on the Board of Directors at Caldwell Academy. She also volunteers her time and talents with the Caldwell Academy Fine Arts Program and the Westover Church Music Program.
