Each year millions of Americans with mental illness struggle to find mental health care. Nearly half of the 60 million adults and children living with mental health conditions in the United States go without any treatment. An hour-long traditional therapy session can range from $65 to $250. As a result, many people cannot access mental health care when they need it most.
At Restoration Place Counseling (RPC), we strive to remove the barrier of high cost by offering a significantly-discounted sliding scale that ranges from only $25 per session to our standard rate of $150 per session.
Clients using the Sliding Scale are required to provide proof of total Annual Household Income (AHI) in order to determine their placement on the sliding scale of fees. Clients who do not provide current AHI will be subject to our standard counseling rate. AHI includes all adults living within the home who contribute to household expenses. Acceptable forms of AHI include current year tax return, W-2, paystub, a letter from employer, self-employment ledger, and letter from a government agency for unemployment benefits.
In order to provide counseling at such affordable rates, RPC relies on friends in the community to subsidize the gap between what the client is paying and the actual cost of providing services through licensed clinical professionals. Our donors are individuals, businesses, and churches – otherwise known as our “Mountain Movers.” And, as they move the financial mountains, our counselors are able to help move emotional and spiritual mountains out of the lives of our clients.
